Jakarta, 30 June 2020 – The ASEAN Study Center, LSPR Communication & Business Institute
CAPRS, held a public lecture through online media (webinar) on Tuesday, 30 June 2020. The
theme of the webinar this time was Diplomacy by Ambassador Djauhari. Present as the guest
speaker was the Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia, H.E Djauhari Oratmangun. The
event was hosted by Yuliana Y Prasetyawati, the Head of CAPRS LSPR Communication and
Business Institute.

Ambassador Djauhari explained that the current focus is on economic diplomacy by
strengthening economic cooperation between Indonesia and China. The four potential areas for
investment cooperation are in the digital economy, the electric vehicle industry, tourism and
human resources. He also said that 2020 is the first time Indonesia has experienced a trade
surplus between Indonesia and China. Furthermore, Ambassador Djauhari stated that the
Indonesian Embassy in Beijing is committed to maximizing the opportunities available to assist
Indonesia's economic growth during this pandemic. One of them is by helping to promote
shrimp crackers from Indonesia through the Tik Tok application to achieve significant sales. He
also conveyed ideas that could be worth exploring to support tourism potential, namely the
hashtag (#) work from home was changed to work from Bali, or work from Lombok so that it
helps Indonesian destinations.

Ambassador Djauhari also gave tips to students who participated in the webinars related to the
art of diplomacy. The three keys in diplomacy are knowing the politics of a country, who is the
key person, and understanding the culture of a country. This webinar was attended by 240
participants consisting of LSPR students and students from various universities in Indonesia. In
addition, academics, professionals and alumni were also present as participants. The recorded
