The 2018 ASEAN Omnimedia Seminar was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) and organized by the China ASEAN Expo Secretariat. The two main purposes of this first ever seminar were to assist ASEAN countries to gain an in-depth and comprehensive understanding about China and to strengthen the information exchange between ASEAN countries and China on omnimedia so that ASEAN countries can more accurately and more objectively deliver news from China.
At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Wang Desheng, Deputy Special Commissioner in Nanning of the Ministry of Commerce and Mr. Zeng Zhong, Vice Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat said respectively that since the construction of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, especially since the China-ASEAN Expo has been successfully held for 14 consecutive years, bilateral economic relationship between China and ASEAN has developed rapidly, bringing tangible benefits to enterprises and people of both sides, enjoying great potential in the future. This seminar not only provides an opportunity for mutual learning, but also serves as a bridge for enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides.
At the Opening Ceremony of the Seminar, Rizka Septiana, M.Si, IAPR, as the Membership Director of APRN, was privileged to represent the entire ASEAN media delegations in giving an opening remark. During the seminar, Mr. Dendy Muris, M.Si., as the Associate Dean of Campus B STIKOM LSPR-Jakarta, presented the result of collaboration between APRN and LSPR-Jakarta about the Indonesia’s Media Landscape.
