On October 16-30, 2019, LSPR Lecturer, Dr. J.A. Wempi, M.Si and Lamria Raya Fitriyani, M.Si, as delegates in the Seminar on Tourism Management for Developing Countries in Hainan, China. The seminar was attended by 13 countries and 41 delegates, with most of the delegations representing various organizations such as the university, lecturers, students, the Ministry, government organization and tourism companies. The seminar was opened by Mr. Rong Yansong, as Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province and Mr. Wang Haibing as Deputy Director of the Commerce Training Center of Departement of Commerce of Hainan Province.
The activities of the seminar are divided into two parts, namely workshops and tourist visits. In the lecturer activity, the delegates obtained material from the lecturers by giving a description of how China managed its tourism, such as the profile of China, protection and utilization of the world of culture and natural heritage in China, HRM in the tourism and hospitality industry, hotel planning and development, tourism service and marketing, and intelligent technology based on networks and big data in tourism. This activity also includes questions and answers and discussions between delegations and lecturers. Moreover, delegation representatives were also allowed to make presentations, to deliver and introduce tourism and their own experiences in the development of tourism in each country.
In addition, on the tour visit, the delegation had the opportunity to see how tourist attractions of each city visited, namely the city of Qionghai visited Nan Qiang Village and Coconut Factory, Sanya city visited Luhuitou Park and Boundary Island, Hangzhou City, Suzhou city visits to the Fan and Umbrella Museum and Tongcheng, and Shanghai to visit Bound and Nanjing Road. The experience was given directly to the delegation in each city visited, with a variety of exciting tourist attractions, shopping places, Chinese culture through tea ceremonies and traditional activities, a coconut factory center which became a famous food and snack of several cities in China and how China organizes and promotes tourism by using communication technology.
The seminar closed by reporting on the activities and appreciation of each delegation, which was attended by Mr. Wang Haibing and Mr. Zhuo as Director of the Division of Outbound Investment and Economic Cooperation from the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province.
